Walk
Engine on and running
Humming, drives me to
The grade, through rain
Through water on the
Window pane
To aches along my spine
Complained about almost
Every single day of the
Work week ending,
Coming home, sitting,
Standing brief moments
At a porcelain throne
To sitting, watching
Staring at televisions glowing
Lulls or plots thicken text
I bought to read after
The next
To taking off my shoes
To laying on the couch
To getting afternoon bills
Advertisements, writing checks
To pay the rent
All I ever wanted was
To share these moments
To ease these burdens
To brighten these moments
Of ease, when I’ve had
The peace to write them down.
Hands to hold
The yarn to knit a
World together rather
Fits a sweater on
Cold lonely lives where
Trudging running humming
Goes in strides
